te: Currency of consecration [CONSECRATIO]to the death of Annia Faustina [FAV-STINA], occurred about the year 175-176 d. C. Best known for Faustina daughter, she was the youngest daughter of Emperor Antoni[PIA]no Pius and Annia Galeria Faustina, Faustina mother, and wife of Emperor Marcus Aurelius. Upon her death, she was deified by the title[DIVA] Divine, a posthumous name used to consecrate a character. She is depicted in this sestercio accompanied by a peacock, attribute of the goddess Hera, Juno in Rome, goddess of marriage, fidelity and motherhood and queen of the gods.
