The visit to El Museo Canario offers students the possibility to approach the Aboriginal past of the island of Gran Canaria. To make this experience rewarding for all we suggest preparing it in advance in the classroom, which will allow students to access the museum with prior knowledge, thus enabling them to better assimilate and enjoy what they will see and discover in it. It will also serve to arouse your interest and curiosity to investigate and know our history by promoting respect and appreciation of our heritage. To facilitate this work, various material is made available to the teacher that can be downloaded through our website.
The general tour of the museum concludes with an activity that will be carried out in the teaching classroom and that aims to deepen the contents worked and promote new learning situations. The proposals for the academic year 2018-2019 will revolve around the symbolic production of the ancient canaries: idols, paints and ceramic vessels are some of the objects that are part of the material culture of this population that will allow us to work this dimension.
