Museum's journal
El Museo Canario (The Museum's journal) was first published in 1880, coinciding with the very foundation of the Museum itself.
Since then, the Museum's journal has gone through different stages:
a) Stage one (1880-1882): For two years the journal was published without interruptions, but in 1882 financial difficulties drove the Museum to suspend its publication.
b) Stage two (1899-1905): The journal reappeared in 1899, and it was published until 1905, when new financial difficulties once again forced the Museum to suspend its publication...
c) Stage three (1933-1936): The journal's publication was resumed in 1933, under the editorship of Agustín Millares Carló. Despite the financing offered by the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, force majeure forced the Museum to cease publishing its jounal in 1936.
d) Stage four (since 1944): the journal reappeared once again in 1944, under the editorship of Eduardo Benítez Inglott, and it is currently published annually under the editorship of Manuel Lobo Cabrera.
